A gilded dragonfly featured on the cover seemed a fitting symbol for the storybook setting, a world of golden summers and magical times with children playing in museums of mystery and riches. This intricate tale could be described as intriguing and compelling, but I found the layers and characters confusing with too much elaborate detail. So difficult to absorb, I skimmed much of the book dipping into it here and there, like the dragonfly hovering, landing and taking off again..

High on my favourite genre list is a gripping suspense novel; sometimes involving murder and mayhem, but in particular the Scandinavian type of crime stories are the ones I am compelled to keep reading. Sadly I have to say this one, by JK Rowling under the pseudonym of Robert Galbraith, didn't quite measure up, perhaps because of the characters.. I leave you to investigate it for yourself..
